  • New Graduates (0 to less than 1 year experience) - $10,000 sign-on bonus for a two-year commitment to UPMC

We are looking for candidates to join our team of Life Changers at UPMC Presbyterian.   • The final job title and pay rate will depend on individual qualifications and candidate preference. Any required certifications and contributions will be provided a timeframe to obtain.
Responsibilities:
  • The LPN functions as a member of the healthcare team, exercising sound nursing judgment based on training, knowledge, and experience. The LPN participates in planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care using focused assessments.
  • The LPN communicates with licensed professionals and the healthcare team to seek guidance when:
    • Care needs exceed the LPN's scope of practice
    • Care needs surpass the LPN's knowledge or skills
    • The patient's condition deteriorates or changes significantly
  • The LPN follows written policies, procedures, Practice Guidelines, and the State Practice Act. Acts within the Practice guidelines (except IVs) and within Relationship Based Care to create a healing environment. The LPN formulates daily goals and a care plan involving the patient as a partner, considering individual needs holistically, and communicates the patient's condition to other providers.
  • Patient documentation is comprehensive, promoting communication and aligning with professional and organizational goals to improve safety, quality, and patient satisfaction. The LPN provides compassionate, patient-centered care, building healing relationships with patients, families, and colleagues. Active participation in unit activities and team support are expected.
  • The LPN provides detailed education to patients and families, guiding them through care episodes and transitions. The LPN seeks feedback for continuous improvement, participates in learning programs, and identifies opportunities for quality and workplace improvements.
  • The LPN develops and maintains productive relationships, demonstrating accountability, enthusiasm, motivation, and cultural sensitivity. The LPN balances work and personal life, models safe work hours, and reports safety hazards to management.
