Job summary

Armor Health in Stryker, OH, is seeking a licensed practical nurse for the night shift (7 PM–7 AM) full-time at the Corrections Center of Northwest Ohio.

You will provide holistic nursing care in a correctional setting, assist providers, document tests, obtain histories, and coordinate transfers and medications.

Applicants must hold an active LPN license, CPR, EMR proficiency, and pass Level 2 background check with drug screen.

Qualifications

• Current/Active state license as an LPN.
• Current CPR certificate.
• Proficient with electronic medical records.
• Ability to pass pre-employment Level 2 clearance to include a background check and drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Provide holistic nursing care to patients in a correctional setting.
• Assist health care providers, registered nurses, and allied health professionals with examinations, treatments, special tests, and routine procedures.
• Obtain patient health history, laboratory specimens, vital signs and administer TB skin tests.
• Conduct lab tests and ensure the results are delivered to the correct physician or registered nurse.
• Ensure patient is receiving proper care for injury or condition.
• Review patient chart; records and reports observed symptoms, reactions, treatments, and changes in patient's conditions.
• Coordinate patient transfers to medical facilities or outside health care providers; administer medications; implement healthcare practitioners' orders; and document all patient contacts using the POMR format.
