Job Description Summary
MUSC Community Physicians (MCP) is an entity within the Medical University of South Carolina that provides healthcare to patients within the rural health network throughout South Carolina.
Under the direction of a registered nurse, the LPN is responsible for all identified nursing care behaviors within their span of control during their shift and is accountable to the Charge Nurse or designated individual. The LPN participates in caring for a defined patient population, assisting with data collection, developing care plans, and evaluating nursing outcomes.

Provides patient/family-centered care, acting as partner and adviser, supporting patients and families in managing their health care while respecting their culture, values, needs, goals, and treatment preferences. Applies critical reasoning and clinical judgment to ensure appropriate care, especially in complex or potentially life-threatening situations. Assists medical staff with patient preparation, examination, procedures, and documentation. Performs screenings, documents findings, and manages incoming patient communications regarding medications and conditions. Cleans and stocks examination rooms and documents all care provided according to policy.
Must be able to perform various physical activities including lifting up to 50 lbs, working in confined spaces, and working rotating shifts. Visual and auditory acuity required, along with the ability to work under stress and in a latex-safe environment.
