Job summary

Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center (TTUHSC) Managed Care is hiring Licensed Vocational Nurses (LVNs) to join our Smith Unit team in Lamesa, TX. LVNs will provide safe, compassionate care within a correctional healthcare setting as part of a multidisciplinary team.

We offer rotating 12-hour shifts (4 on/4 off) with onboarding of approximately 3 months, structured training, and a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, and vision insurance, TRS retirement, paid holidays

Qualifications

• Current LVN License in TX or ability to transfer within 120 days.
• Graduated from an accredited nursing program.
• NCLEX-PN required for new graduates on first attempt.

Responsibilities

• Engage in daily patient care, emergency response and chronic disease management.

About the Smith Unit

The Smith Unit offers a fast-paced clinical environment where LVNs play a critical role in daily patient care, emergency response, chronic disease management, and interdisciplinary collaboration. Nurses are empowered to utilize their assessment and critical-thinking skills while contributing to positive patient outcomes.

Rotating 12-Hour Shifts (4 on/ 4 off)

Enjoy a predictable rotating schedule that provides four consecutive workdays followed by four consecutive days off, offering excellent work-life balance.

Required Qualifications:

• Current LVN License in the State of Texas, or ability to transfer license to Texas, or scheduled to complete a program of vocational nursing within 120 days of applying for a position.
