Job summary

Inova Mount Vernon Hospital - Wound Care is seeking an Outpatient Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team in Alexandria, VA. This full-time day position features 9-hour shifts, four days per week, at 2501 Parkers Lane, Alexandria, VA 22306.

The role provides direct patient care under RN supervision and supports patient education and discharge planning. Virginia LPN license and BLS are required; one year of LPN experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Vocational / Technical Diploma in Practical Nursing
• Licensed Practical Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care utilizing the nursing process under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse.
• Reviews diagnostic test results and reports abnormal results and changes in patient condition to the Registered Nurse, physician and appropriate healthcare team members in a timely manner.
• Collaborates with the Registered Nurse on the execution of patient plans.
• Assists with patient education and discharge planning under the direction of the Registered Nurse.
• Evaluates and maintains the patient care environment to promote safety.
