Job summary

The Stepping Stones Group is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for a contracted, school-based private duty placement in Shawnee Mission, KS for the 26/27 school year. This part-time role covers student care during school hours and includes direct nursing support on site.

Responsibilities include monitoring the student, administering medications, and following care plans with clinical backing from experienced nurses.

Qualifications

• Active LPN License in Kansas
• Current BLS CPR/AED certification
• Pediatric skillset and chronic condition management experience
• Seizure action plans and rescue medications
• Tube feedings, pediatric diabetic care, oxygen/airway management
• Medication administration and catheterization
• Ability to implement physician orders and care plans within LPN scope
• School-based experience strongly preferred

• Maintain continuous observation of the student throughout the school day and during bus rides
• Support chronic condition management and assist with care plans
• Provide first aid and medication administration
• Document care and communicate with school teams
• Accompany student during transportation and community activities when assigned
• Report significant status changes to supervising RN and family

Job description

The Stepping Stones Groupis seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for a contracted, school-based placement in Shawnee Mission, KS for the 26/27 school year! This is a part-time private duty role and includes caring for a student during school hours.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• Active LPN License in Kansas
• Current BLS CPR/AED certification
• Demonstrated experience with following skills:
  • Pediatric skillset
  • Seizure management - competent with seizure action plans and rescue medications
  • Tube feedings
  • Pediatric diabetic care
  • Oxygen and airway management
  • Medication administration
  • Catheterization
• Ability to safely implement physician orders and care plans within LPN scope of practice
• School-based experience highly preferred

WHAT YOU'LL DO
