Job summary

The Stepping Stones Group is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for a contracted, school-based placement in Abbeville, SC for the 26/27 school year. This is a part-time, private duty/1:1 role supporting a local K-12 district with nursing services.

The LPN will provide continuous student observation, chronic condition management, medication administration, and collaboration with school teams. The position offers competitive pay and clinical backing from experienced nurses.

Qualifications

• Active LPN License in South Carolina.
• Current BLS CPR/AED certification.
• Competency in pediatric skills including trach/vent management, seizure management, tube feedings and pediatric diabetic care.
• Ability to implement physician orders and care plans within LPN scope of practice.
• School-based nursing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain continuous observation of the assigned student during the school day.
• Support chronic condition management and assist with care plans and procedures.
• Provide first aid and medication administration as required.
• Document care and communicate with school teams.
• Accompany student during transportation and community activities as assigned.
• Report status changes to supervising RN and family.

Job description

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• Active LPN License in South Carolina
• Current BLS CPR/AED certification
• Demonstrated competency in the specific skills required for the assigned student including:
  • Pediatric skillset
  • Trach/vent management
  • Seizure management - competent with seizure action plans and rescue medications
  • Tube feedings
  • Pediatric diabetic care
  • Oxygen and airway management
  • Medication administration
  • Strong assessment and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to work independently
• Ability to safely implement physician orders and care plans within LPN scope of practice
• School-based experience highly preferred
