In this role, you will provide nursing services within your scope of practice, monitor residents' health, administer medications and treatments as authorized, and collaborate with registered nurses, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to support resident safety and quality of care.

This position is ideal for an LPN who has strong clinical skills, sound judgment, effective communication, and the ability to adapt to a fast-paced skilled nursing or long-term care environment.

Responsibilities
  • Provide nursing care in accordance with physician orders, resident care plans, facility policies, and applicable nursing regulations.
  • Administer medications and treatments within the LPN scope of practice and facility protocols.
  • Monitor residents' conditions, obtain vital signs, and recognize changes in physical or mental status.
  • Promptly report significant changes in resident condition to the appropriate supervising nurse or healthcare provider.
  • Perform nursing assessments and observations within the scope of practice and applicable regulations.
  • Assist with wound care, dressings, and other prescribed treatments as authorized and within competency.
  • Maintain accurate, timely documentation in resident records and electronic health record systems.
  • Support infection prevention, fall prevention, and other resident safety initiatives.
  • Communicate effectively with residents, families, physicians, registered nurses, CNAs, and other care team members.
  • Participate in care planning, shift handoffs, and continuity-of-care activities as assigned.
  • Monitor residents for medication effectiveness, adverse reactions, and other concerns, escalating issues promptly.
  • Maintain resident privacy, dignity, confidentiality, and rights.
  • Report suspected abuse, neglect, medication errors, injuries, and other safety concerns through appropriate channels.
  • Follow facility emergency procedures and applicable reporting requirements.
Schedule and Work Environment

This is a PRN position offering shifts based on facility staffing needs and confirmed availability. Hours and shifts are not guaranteed.

LPNs should be comfortable providing hands-on nursing care, managing competing priorities, documenting care accurately, and working collaboratively with nursing staff in a skilled nursing or long-term care setting.

PRN scheduling requires flexibility, reliable attendance, and a commitment to the shifts accepted.

Required Qualifications
  • Current, active, and verifiable LPN license issued by the Georgia Board of Nursing or otherwise valid for practice in Georgia.
  • Ability to provide safe nursing care within the LPN scope of practice and applicable state regulations.
  • Knowledge of medication administration, treatment procedures, infection prevention, and resident safety.
  • Ability to recognize changes in resident condition and promptly communicate concerns to the appropriate healthcare professional.
  • Strong clinical judgment, communication, documentation, and time-management skills.
  • Ability to follow physician orders, resident care plans, facility protocols, and applicable nursing regulations.
  • Willingness to complete required onboarding, competency assessments, and applicable background and employment checks.
  • Ability to meet the essential functions of the position, with reasonable accommodation where applicable.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience in a skilled nursing facility, nursing home, rehabilitation center, or long-term care setting.
  • Experience with medication administration, wound care, treatment documentation, and monitoring residents with chronic conditions.
  • Familiarity with dementia care, fall prevention, infection control, and management of residents with complex care needs.
  • Experience using electronic health records and medication administration systems.
  • Experience communicating with physicians, registered nurses, residents, and families regarding care needs.
  • Availability for additional PRN shifts, including weekends and holidays, when needed.
  • Current BLS/CPR certification if required by the facility or assignment.
Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is clinically competent, compassionate, dependable, and attentive to detail. They can recognize changes in resident condition, communicate concerns promptly, follow medication and treatment protocols, and work effectively with the nursing team.

Successful candidates understand that PRN work is based on facility staffing needs, requires schedule flexibility, and does not guarantee a specific number of hours or shifts.

Required license and eligibility must be verified before placement. Preferred experience does not replace required qualifications.

Why Consider This PRN Opportunity?
  • Flexible scheduling: PRN shifts based on facility staffing needs and your availability.
  • Meaningful work: Help improve residents' health, comfort, safety, and quality of life.
