Licensed Practical Nurse (PRN) – Jail
Compensation: $37.84 per hour

Key Responsibilities
- Under RN supervision, assess patients’ physical, psychological, and social dimensions in both health care and housing units, contributing to individualized treatment planning and consulting with staff as needed.
- Implement treatment programs directed by health care practitioners, including administration of medications, IV therapy (if certified), and diagnostic tests according to established protocols.
- Collaborate in controlled substance counts at the beginning of each shift, adhering to safety techniques, procedures, and standard precautions while responding to codes or health emergencies within standard guidelines.
- Assist in medical or minor surgical procedures, implement nutrition and therapeutic diet plans, and document nursing encounters using SOAP charting, ensuring effective communication with nursing staff, physicians, and other relevant personnel.
- Attend mandatory staff meetings and training sessions, demonstrating a commitment to continuous professional development and adherence to policies and procedures in providing high‑quality patient care.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Graduate from an accredited nursing school.
- Minimum of one (1) year of clinical experience preferred.
- Current licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) in the state of employment.
- CPR certification (must be obtained and maintained).
Shift Details
PRN position requiring 4 shifts per month, including at least one weekend shift. Shift times are 8‑hour shifts from 0700 to 1530, with some flexibility for coverage during normal business hours.
