Job summary

Southern Tennessee Regional Health System - Lawrenceburg is seeking a Clinic LPN to support pediatric care in a community hospital setting. The role is part-time with daytime hours on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and occasional Mondays as needed.

You will work under RN supervision to deliver direct patient care, perform wound care, and assist with care plans. Qualified applicants will hold a Tennessee or compact LPN license, graduate from a Practical Nursing program, and have BLS certification within

• Current Tennessee or compact LPN license and graduate of a Practical Nursing program.
• AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 7 days of hire.
• Ability to work under supervision, think critically, and function in a stressful environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care under RN supervision in accordance with scope of practice.
• Perform plan of care interventions including specimen collection and wound care.
• May administer medication as directed.
• Document patient care provided and communicate status to RN/physician.
• Assist RN with development of plan of care.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living including hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
• Monitor and document patient status and responses to interventions; communicate with care team and families.

How you'll contribute

A Clinic LPN who excels in this role:

• As supervised and delegated by a registered nurse, provides direct patient care in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice.
• Performs plan of care interventions, including specimen collection and wound care.
• May administer medication.
• Documents patient care given.
• Assists RN with development of plan of care.
• Assists patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
• Monitors, documents, and communicates patient's status and reactions to interventions with RN, physician, patient, and families.
• Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.
• Schedules appointments and procedures as ordered by the provider.
• Obtains insurance re-authorizations as requested for testing and scheduled procedures.

What we're looking for

Applicants should have a current Tennessee or compact state LPN license and be a graduate of a Practical Nursing program. Additional requirements include:

• Certifications: AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) within 7 days of hire.
• Required Skills: Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
• Experience: One-year previous experience preferred.
• Licenses: LPN License for the State of Tennessee.
• Education: Graduate of a Practical Nursing program.

STRHS-Lawrenceburg, formerly Crockett Hospital, is a 99-bed, acute care facility located in Lawrenceburg, Tennessee, 85 miles south of Nashville.

We have been providing the best healthcare in Lawrence County and surrounding counties in Southern Middle Tennessee since 1974. We expanded the facility and services in 1991 with the addition of an Outpatient Surgery Unit, a state-of-the-art 24-hour physician-staffed Emergency Department, and an Intensive Care Unit. The hospital opened a 10-bed Physical Rehabilitation Unit in 1997, and a Women's Health Center in 1999. Diagnostic imaging services include in-house MRI, Nuclear Medicine, CT, X-ray, Digital Mammography and Ultrasound. The Rehabilitation Unit provides Physical, Occupational and Speech Therapies. In 2009, a $5.6 million construction was completed which expanded the Emergency Department, Outpatient Surgery Unit and Registration area.
