Job Overview

Lake Regional Health System is seeking a professional and outgoing Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Medical Assistant (MA) to join our team. Our state-of-the-art hospital, along with a network of clinics, therapy sites, and pharmacies, offers diverse employment opportunities within our community.

Responsibilities

• Escort patients to exam rooms and document chief complaints
• Record patient care in electronic medical records
• Assist physicians and nurse practitioners with assessments, treatments, testing, and patient education
• Greet patients warmly and respectfully, demonstrating compassion
• Respond promptly to patient needs, keep them informed, and maintain confidentiality in accordance with privacy regulations
• Support in-clinic procedures alongside physicians and nurse practitioners

Qualifications

General Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Graduation from an accredited Practical Nursing Program (new grads welcome)
• Missouri LPN License
• Previous experience in a medical office, including lab draws, preferred

Medical Assistant Specific

Graduation from an accredited Medical Assisting program or 3-5 years of clinic-based MA experience.

Credentialing

You must pass credentialing tests within 90 days of hire through one of the approved bodies:

• American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) - www.aama-ntl.org
• American Medical Technologists (AMT) - www.americanmedtech.org
• National Healthcareer Association (NHA) - www.nhanow.com
• National Association for Health Professionals (NAHP) - www.nahpusa.com

Desired credentials include CMA, RMA, or CCMA. Additional certifications may be required and coordinated by Lake Regional.

Additional Requirements

Annual influenza vaccination is required.
