Lifepoint Health, in Pulaski, Tennessee, is seeking an experienced Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for our Neurology Clinic on a part-time, day shift (Tuesday-Thursday, 8:00am-5:00pm). The role supports a high-quality patient care environment within the Southern Tennessee Regional Health System network.

The successful candidate will hold a Tennessee LPN license, have completed a Practical Nursing program, and possess BLS certification.

Qualifications

• Current Tennessee or compact state LPN license.
• Graduate of a Practical Nursing program.
• AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire.
• Ability to think critically, make timely decisions and work with minimal supervision.
• LPN license for the State of Tennessee.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care under supervision following scope and standards of practice.
• Perform plan of care interventions including wound care and specimen collection; may administer medication.
• Assist RN with developing and updating the plan of care.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living: hygiene, nutrition, mobility.
• Monitor and document patient status and responses; communicate with RN, physician, and families.
• Advocate for patient physical and emotional well-being.
• Schedule appointments and procedures as ordered by the provider.
• Obtain insurance re-authorizations for tests and procedures.

How You'll Contribute

• As supervised and delegated by a registered nurse, provides direct patient care in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice.
• Performs plan of care interventions, including specimen collection and wound care. May administer medication. Documents patient care given.
• Assists RN with development of plan of care.
• Assists patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
• Monitors, documents, and communicates patient's status and reactions to interventions with RN, physician, patient, and families.
• Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.
• Schedules appointments and procedures as ordered by the provider.
• Obtains insurance re-authorizations as requested for testing and scheduled procedures.

What We're Looking For

Applicants should have a current Tennessee or compact state LPN license and be a graduate of a Practical Nursing program. Additional requirements include:

• Certifications: AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire.
• Required Skills: Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
