Job summary

Sovah Health - Danville is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for the Medical/Surgical unit on nights. The role supports RN-led care, with an average 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio on a 24-bed unit and the possibility of medication administration under supervision.

A $15,000 sign-on bonus is eligible, with shifts from 7P to 7A. Required Virginia LPN license (single-state or compact) and AHA BLS certification.

Qualifications

• Active Virginia LPN license (single-state) or compact license.
• Graduate of a practical school of nursing required.
• AHA BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Contributes to the assessment of patients by collecting data for analysis by an RN.
• Performs plan of care interventions, including specimen collection and wound care; may administer medication.
• Documents patient care provided.
• Assists RN with development of plan of care.
• Assists patients with daily living activities including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
• Monitors, documents, and communicates patient status and responses to interventions with RN, physician, patient, and family.
• Advocates for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.
• Participates in performance improvement and continuing education.

What We're Looking For

Applicants must have an active Virginia LPN license (single-state) or compact license. If relocating, licensure must be updated to the new Primary State of Residence (PSOR) before employment begins. Graduate of a practical school of nursing required.

Additional Requirements Include

• AHA BLS certification required.
