Job summary

Houston Medical Center – AMG Specialty Hospital is seeking Full Time Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN) for all shifts. Our LPNs provide direct and indirect patient care, communicating with physicians and team members about changes in patient condition.

They must maintain regulatory standards and perform duties under supervision. Full-Time benefits include medical/dental/vision insurance, life and disability coverage, paid time off, retirement plan and more.

Qualifications

• Current Texas Licensed Practical Nurse licensure.
• ICU/critical care experience preferred.
• Current BLS certification.
• Current ACLS certification (within 90 days of hire date).
• Minimum of six months to one year’s work experience is preferred.
• Able to read and communicate effectively in English.
• Additional languages are desirable.
• Basic computer knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct and indirect patient care services that meet psychosocial, physical and general aspects of care.
• Meet the communication needs of patient and family; communicate with physicians and team members about changes in patient’s clinical condition.
• Respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment.
• Additionally, perform general nursing duties in all departments with adequate supervision.
• Maintain regulatory agency requirements, nursing and hospital policies, procedures and standards.
