Job summary

Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital in Somerset, Kentucky is seeking an experienced Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our Family Practice Clinic on a full-time basis. The shift is 7:15 am to 4:30 pm, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, providing compassionate patient care under RN supervision and collaborating with the clinic team.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved practical nursing program.
• Current LPN license to practice in the Commonwealth of Kentucky.
• BCLS within 30 days of hire.
• Knowledge of ICD-9, ICD-10, CPT codes, insurance benefits and healthcare backgrounds.

Responsibilities

• Under the direction of an RN, contributes to the assessment of patients by collecting data for analysis by an RN.
• Performs plan of care interventions, including specimen collection and wound care.
• May administer medication.
• Documents patient care given.
• Assists RN with development of plan of care.
• Assists patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
• Monitors, documents, and communicates patient''s status and reactions to interventions with RN, physician, patient, and families.
• Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.
• Schedules, appointments and procedures as ordered by the provider.
• Obtains insurance re-authorizations as requested for testing and scheduled procedures.
• Attend clinic meetings.
• Maintains a clean and safe working environment.
• Reports all incidents, hazards, drug interactions, and initiate appropriate action.
• Completes safety instructional programs.
• Assist other team members when time permits.

What we are looking for

• Education: Graduate of an approved practical nursing program
• License: Current LPN/PN to practice in the Commonwealth of Kentucky and be in good standing with the Board of health Professions
• Certifications: BCLS within 30 days of hire
• Minimum Work Experience: Knowledge of ICD-9, ICD-10, CPT codes, insurance benefits and healthcare backgrounds
