Frye Regional Medical Center in Hickory, NC is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join the Family Medicine Clinic team. This full-time role runs Monday through Friday, 7:00am to 4:00pm, with 40 hours per week, at 2810 16th St NE, Hickory.

Under RN supervision you will provide direct patient care, assist with data collection, and support precertifications and referrals while upholding standards of practice and compassionate patient interactions.

Formación

• Current North Carolina LPN license is required.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire.
• Ability to think critically and make decisive judgments.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision in a stressful environment.
• Previous Family Medicine or Pediatric care preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Provide direct patient care under supervision and delegated by a registered nurse.
• Assist in patient assessment data collection for RN review.
• Support precertifications and ensure medical necessity for admissions.
• Process admissions and concurrent precertifications to obtain authorization numbers.
• Maintain effective communication with payors and staff.
• Review charts for clinical information to support precertification.
• Maintain telephone etiquette with referral sources.
• Coordinate with RN case managers on patient management.
• Evaluate patient status to ensure appropriate reimbursement.

How you'll contribute

• As supervised and delegated by a registered nurse, provides direct patient care to patients in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice.
• Under the direction of an RN, contributes to the assessment of patients by collecting data for analysis by an RN.
• Establishes and maintains efficient methods of ensuring the medical necessity and appropriateness of all hospital admissions while obtaining precertification's.
• Performs admission and concurrent precertification's for patients to ensure that the claim has an authorization number to prevent denials.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with payors, staff, etc.
• Reviews charts for clinical information to obtain precertification.
• Maintains proper telephone etiquette to referral sources.
• Manages patients under RN case manager supervision.
• Evaluates patient status to ensure it is correct per medical necessity for appropriate reimbursement.

What we're looking for

Applicants should have a current state LPN license. High school diploma or equivalent required. Additional requirements include:

• Active North Carolina LPN license (single-state) or compact required. If relocating, licensure must be updated to the new Primary State of Residence (PSOR) before employment begins.
• Basic Life Support certification is required within 30 days of hire.
• Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
• Previous Family Medicine or Pediatric Care is required.
