Job summary

Frye Regional Medical Center in Hickory, NC is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) Operating Room Circulator for PRN positions with 8- or 10-hour shifts. You will join a fast-paced OR team delivering high-quality perioperative care and patient advocacy.

With 13 ORs and 15–30 cases daily, you’ll work alongside surgeons, anesthesia providers, and perioperative staff to ensure safe, efficient procedures. The role requires NC RN license, BLS, ACLS/PALS (within six months), and 1–2 years of OR experience.

Qualifications

• Active North Carolina RN license.
• BLS, ACLS and PALS certification to be obtained within required timelines.
• One to two years of operating room (OR) experience.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Accurately performs patient assessments and identifies patient needs.
• Identifies and initiates appropriate nursing interventions.
• Provides care appropriate to the condition and age of the patient.
• Performs timely and accurate documentation relating to medical necessity in the medical record.
• Responsible for completion and revision of the Interdisciplinary Care Plan for each patient.
• Performs timely and accurate QI assessments.

The Operating Room team at Frye Regional Medical Center offers a fast-paced, collaborative environment where nurses play an essential role in delivering exceptional surgical care. With 13 operating rooms and approximately 15-30 cases performed daily, team members gain diverse procedural experience while working alongside skilled surgeons, anesthesia providers, and perioperative staff.

How you'll contribute

A Registered Nurse (RN)who excels in this role:

• Accurately performs patient assessments and identifies patient needs

What we're looking for

Applicants should have a current state RN license. Bachelor's degree preferred but not required. Additional requirements include:

• Active North Carolina RN license (single-state) or compact required. If relocating, licensure must be updated to the new Primary State of Residence (PSOR) before employment begins.
• Basic Life Support certification is required within 30 days of hire.
• ACLS and PALS are required within six months of hire.
• One to Two years of Operating Room RN experience required.
