Job summary

Missouri Veterans Home is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse to provide skilled nursing services to assess and meet our Veterans' medical needs. The team operates under the Missouri Veterans Commission's mission of serving state heroes.

Qualifications

• Licensed Practical Nurse license in Missouri in good standing, or a recent graduate may practice as a graduate nurse until licensure results are received or up to 90 days after graduation per MO Board of Nursing.

Responsibilities

• Assess Veterans' needs and ensure services are aligned with those needs.
• Perform clinical nursing procedures according to accepted standards of practice.
• Coordinate tasks of nursing personnel on the designated wing/unit.
• Provide skilled nursing services as directed by the Registered Nurse Supervisor and report significant changes.
• Deliver medications accurately and conduct follow-up observations.
• Participate in orientation of unit staff.
• Transcribe and implement physician orders.
• Document in the EMR accurately and timely.

Pay

• Day shift: $29.30 - $31.28/hour
• Evening and night shift: $31.30 - $33.28/hour
• Pay commensurate with experience
• Additional $1.50/hour weekend shift differential available

Examples of Work

• Assess needs of Veterans and ensures services are consistent with needs
• Perform clinical nursing procedures according to acceptable standards of practice

Qualifications

• Licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse in Missouri – in good standing; or
• A recent graduate of an accredited nursing program may practice as a graduate nurse until results of first licensure examination are received or until 90 days after graduation, whichever occurs first, as allowed by the Missouri Board of Nursing
