Job summary

The Hampton-Newport News Community Services Board (H-NNCSB) is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our Child & Adolescent Outpatient team in Hampton. You'll provide nursing support to children and adolescents receiving behavioral health services and medication management, collaborating with psychiatrists, therapists, and families.

The role offers a Monday–Friday schedule, a base salary of $52,278 per year, and a $3,000 sign-on bonus.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited LPN program with an active Virginia LPN license.
• One year of experience administering medications in a psychiatric/behavioral health or related setting.

Responsibilities

• Support psychiatrists with medication management and treatment planning.
• Administer, monitor, order, and dispense medications with safety protocols.
• Complete medical intakes, vital signs, and routine physical/mental health assessments.
• Monitor clients for medication effectiveness, side effects, and changes in condition.
• Provide medication education and supportive communication to children, adolescents, and families.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation, medication records, and reports.
• Manage medication inventory, storage, and security.
• Coordinate medical appointments and follow-up with the treatment team.

The Hampton-Newport News Community Services Board (H-NNCSB) is seeking a compassionate and dependable Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our Child & Adolescent Outpatient team in Hampton.

In this role, you'll provide nursing support to children and adolescents receiving behavioral health services and medication management. You'll work closely with psychiatrists, therapists, nurses, families, and other members of the treatment team to promote safe, coordinated, and person-centered care.

Required Qualifications:

Graduate of an accredited Licensed Practical Nursing (LPN) program with a current, active Virginia LPN license with the Virginia Board of Nursing.

One (1) year of experience administering medications in a psychiatric, behavioral health, substance use treatment, long-term care, or related healthcare setting.
