Job summary

McKenney Home Care is seeking Florida-licensed LPNs for PRN private-duty nursing in clients' homes across Sarasota, Venice, and Charlotte County. Work is based on case needs, availability, and location, with one-on-one patient focus.

Opportunities include day/evening visits, overnight shifts, and weekends. You will be part of a supportive office and nursing team, delivering skilled care in a home setting.

Qualifications

• Active Florida LPN license in good standing.
• Hands-on CPR certification.
• TB test, PPD, or chest X-ray current within required timeframe.

Responsibilities

• Provide skilled nursing care in the client's home according to the established plan of care.
• Assess and monitor client condition and promptly report changes.
• Administer medications and treatments as ordered.
• Support clients with chronic conditions, post-hospital needs, and ongoing nursing needs.
• Provide client and family education related to care and safety.
• Communicate with physicians, families, and care team as appropriate.
• Complete accurate and timely documentation in WellSky app.
• Follow agency policies and client-specific care plans.

McKenney Home Care offers private-duty nursing opportunities in clients’ homes, with schedules based on current case needs, your availability, experience, and location.

McKenney Home Care is a family-owned private-duty home care agency serving Sarasota and Charlotte County. Through our Venice office, we are seeking Florida-licensed LPNs who enjoy one-on-one care, are comfortable working independently, and value support from an office and nursing team.

What’s Available

PRN opportunities may include:

• Day or evening visits
• Overnight shifts
• Weekend availability
• Short skilled nursing visits
• Recurring case assignments when available

Schedules vary based on client needs, nurse availability, location, and case requirements. PRN hours cannot be guaranteed.

What You’ll Do

• Provide skilled nursing care in the client’s home according to the established plan of care
• Assess and monitor client condition and promptly report changes or concerns
• Administer medications and treatments as ordered
• Support clients with chronic conditions, post-hospital needs, and ongoing nursing needs

• Follow agency policies, nursing direction, and client-specific care plans

What You’ll Need to Complete Onboarding

• Active Florida LPN license in good standing
• Strong clinical judgment, observation, and communication skills
• Ability to work independently in a private home setting
• Valid driver’s license, current auto insurance, and reliable transportation
• Hands-on CPR certification
• TB test, PPD, or lab screening within the required timeframe, or qualifying chest X-ray

• Dependable attendance and professional conduct

Home care, private duty, hospice, hospital, or related nursing experience is preferred.
