About the Role

This is a distinctive opportunity for Licensed Vocational Nurses (LVNs) and Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) to gain experience working in a government healthcare setting, providing essential health care services within a multidisciplinary team. The role involves ambulatory, emergency, mental health, and infirmary care, enhancing professional skills while serving a critical mission.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct care to patients within scope of practice.
• Administer medications through various routes as ordered.
• Conduct prescreening and intake screening using established tools.
• Execute treatments such as wound care and electrocardiograms as ordered.
• Collect laboratory specimens and perform point‑of‑care testing.
• Respond to medical emergencies and provide stabilization care.
• Support other healthcare professionals with patient data and education.
• Participate in involuntary, court‑ordered care if required.

Required Qualifications

• Graduate from a Vocational/Practical Nurse program approved by a state, District of Columbia, or U.S. territory.
• Minimum of one‑year experience in a hospital, medical office, or outpatient clinical setting.
• Maintain a current, full, and unrestricted LVN/LPN license by the state.
• Maintain BLS for Healthcare Providers certification through the American Heart Association.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in detention/correctional or residential healthcare setting.
• Certified Correctional Health Professional or Certified Corrections Nurse credential.
• Verbal and written proficiency in Spanish.
