The position is full-time, Monday through Friday, daytime hours with no nights, weekends, or holidays. Licensed in Virginia and at least 2 years in a hospital or clinic setting preferred.

Qualifications

• Requires a degree from an accredited school of practical nursing.
• Minimum of 2 years' experience in a hospital or clinic setting preferred.
• Must be licensed as a Licensed Practical Nurse.

Responsibilities

• Manage efficient flow of patients including screening, exam prep, vitals collection.
• Notify patients of test results and follow-up appointments; instruct on medications.
• Maintain patient records and chart entries; post labs and exam results.
• Schedule tests and treatments; arrange referrals and obtain pre-authorizations.
• Assist provider with physical exams and preparation for physicals.
• Coordinate with pharmacy to order prescriptions and notify patients.
• Monitor inventory and supplies.
• Record patient health history and note abnormal findings for physicians.
• Screen referrals and triage to ensure productive departmental flow.

Seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse for our practice who provides clinical expertise to ensure all patients receive high quality, efficient care. What you will do in this role:

• You will manage efficient flow of patients including screening, preparation for exam, instructing patients on collection of any necessary samples/tests, and obtaining vitals
• You will notify patients of test results and follow-up appointments and instruct patients and families about medications and treatment instructions
• You will manage patient records including chart entries and posting lab/tests and examination results
• You will schedule tests and treatments including arranging referrals to a specialist and obtaining pre-authorizations when directed by the provider
• Assist provider with physical exams and in preparation for physicals
• Contact pharmacy to order prescriptions and notify patients
• Control inventory and monitoring of supplies
• Record health history of patients and note abnormal conditions for physicians
• Respond to and screen telephone calls for referrals to nurse or physician
• Triage patients to ensure productive departmental flow

What Qualifications you will need:

• A degree from an accredited school of practical nursing is required.
• Minimum of 2 years' experience in a hospital or clinic setting is preferred
• Must be licensed as a Licensed Practical Nurse following state regulation
