Job summary

Houghton Rehabilitation and Nursing Center is seeking a full-time licensed nurse to deliver high-quality resident care. You will perform treatments, administer medications, and participate in shift handoffs while maintaining patient safety and comfort.

The role requires at least 1 year of nursing experience and an active license, with opportunities for professional growth and a stable schedule in a supportive environment.

Qualifications

• 1 year experience in nursing required.
• License, registration, and/or certification required.

Responsibilities

• Provides safe resident care following established standards and policies.
• Participates in quality improvement for resident care.
• Incorporates age-specific needs and care routines.
• Communicates resident information and care plans during shift changes.
• Administers medications accurately following the five rights and documents accordingly.
• Performs treatments using sterile or clean technique.
• Administers external feedings as required.
• Completes care activities within scheduled shift times.
• Cooperates with reassignments in the interest of resident care.
• Reports problems and proposes solutions to nursing management.
• Delegates care tasks and discusses solutions with nursing leadership.

Functions

• Provides safe resident care, demonstrating knowledge and competency in completing assigned treatments and procedures according to established standards and policies. Maintains awareness of new updates standards and incorporates them into his/her nursing practice through out the continuum of care.
• Participates in the improvement process of quality resident care.
• Incorporates age-specific needs, provision of care, procedures, and treatments.
• Communicates pertinent resident information and plan of care before breaks, during transfer, and at shift report.
• Accurately administers medications according to the five rights of medication administration and documentation of same.
• Accurately performs treatments utilizing sterile or clean technique.
• Accurately administers external feedings.
• Completes resident care-related activities within scheduled shift time periods.
• Cooperates with reassignments made in the interest of resident care.
• Reports resident care problems and possible solutions to the appropriate nursing management personnel.
• Delegates resident care problems and possible solutions to the appropriate nursing management personnel.
