Job summary

The City of Virginia Beach’s Department of Human Services seeks to hire multiple Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) assigned to different Intermediate Care Facilities within our Developmental Services Division, providing care to adults with physical and/or intellectual disabilities. Selected candidates will qualify for a generous $3,000 hiring bonus!

These LPNs will contribute to assessments, IPP components, and collaboration with the IDT, while mentoring non-licensed staff and supporting

Qualifications

• Must hold Virginia LPN license and maintain current certification.
• CPR and defensive driving certification required throughout employment.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in ICF/Group Home nursing.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to biological, psychological, and social assessment of clients.
• Assist with health components of the Individual Program Plan (IPP).
• Collaborate with Interdisciplinary Team and healthcare professionals.
• Provide technical support to non-licensed staff on health care and meds.
• Under RN supervisor, assess and address healthcare needs for acute/chronic conditions.
• Attend trainings, meetings, and community engagements for residents.
• Communicate effectively with all parties in a professional manner.
• Maintain Virginia LPN certification, CPR and defensive driving.

Job Duties and Preferred Qualifications:

The City of Virginia Beach’s Department of Human Services seeks to hire multiple Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) assigned to different Intermediate Care Facilities (ICFs) within our Developmental Services Division, providing care to adults with physical and/or intellectual disabilities. The ideal candidates will have more than one (1) year of experience in the specialty of ICF/Group Home Nursing and Long-Term care.

Selected candidates will qualify for a generous $3,000 hiring bonus!**

Duties :

• Responsible for contributing to the biological, psychological, and social assessment of clients.
• Assist with the development and implementation of health-related components of the Individual Program Plan (IPP).
• Collaborate with members of the Interdisciplinary Team (IDT) and other healthcare professionals in the community.
• Within the scope of practice, the nurse provides technical support to non-licensed staff regarding health care services and medication administration.
• At the direction of the Registered Nurse (RN) Supervisor, the LPN will assess, implement, and evaluate the individual’s healthcare needs for all acute and chronic healthcare conditions.
• Participate in trainings, meetings, and participate in community engagements to further support the individuals residing in the ICF.
• Communicate in an effective, respectful, professional manner using methods easily understood by all parties involved.
• Maintain current certification for Licensed Practical Nursing in the state of Virginia; maintain CPR and defensive driving throughout employment with the City of Virginia Beach.
