Job summary

MissionCare at Holyoke is seeking a Charge Nurse to provide medication administration, treatments, and daily living support for residents in our facility. This role includes coordinating nursing care on the unit and supervising CNAs on shift.

The ideal candidate holds a current MA nursing license, has 1 year of acute or long-term care experience, and is proficient in English. EMR experience is preferred. We offer a sign-on bonus of up to $10,000 and competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• Current MA nursing license is required.
• Prefer at least 1 year of experience in acute or long-term care at a skilled nursing facility.
• Experience in rehabilitation or behavioral health is a plus.
• Proficiency in English (speaking, reading, and writing) required.
• EMR experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plans and implements quality of care for each resident on the unit.
• Coordinate, assign, direct and prioritize work of staff (CNAs) to ensure efficient operation.
• Make independent clinical decisions and collaborate with RN Supervisor as needed.

Summary:

The primary role of the Charge Nurse includes providing medication administration, treatments, and assistance with activities of daily living for facility residents.

Responsibilities:

• Plans and implements the optimal achievable quality of care rendered to each resident on the assigned Unit

• The Charge Nurse shall coordinate, assign, direct and prioritize the work of other staff members (primarily CNAs) in order to ensure the efficient operation of the nursing unit.

• Makes independent decisions relevant to nursing care which are required and delivered to each resident as per the nursing assignments. Collaborates with RN Supervisor as relevant decisions are required, in a timely manner.

• Documents change in patient’s condition, new orders received, unusual occurrences and report of incidents including employee injuries. Reports unusual occurrences to the RN Supervisor.

Qualifications:

• A current, unencumbered MA nursing license is required

• Prefer a minimum of one year of experience in acute care and/or long term care in a skilled nursing facility

• Experience in rehabilitation or behavioral health is a plus

• Proficiency in English, including speaking, reading, and writing, required

• EMR experience preferred
