Job summary

Walter Reed Post Acute is seeking an LPN for full-time or part-time roles with evening or night shifts and a shift differential. The position offers daily pay and an option to add $3/hr by waiving benefits for FT staff.

Responsibilities include administering medications, following care plans, documenting accurately, and ensuring a safe, supportive environment for residents. Virginia LPN license and CPR are required.

Qualifications

• Current, unencumbered active LPN license in Virginia.
• Valid BLS Certification (CPR) required.
• Ability to care for and manage multiple patients in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
• Strong clinical judgment, communication skills, and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care per the plan of care and physician orders.
• Follow individualized care plans created by the Nurse Manager and team.
• Perform medication administration and treatments as prescribed.
• Monitor residents, report changes promptly to supervising staff.
• Maintain accurate documentation per orders and regulatory standards.
• Support a safe, respectful environment for residents and families.

Responsibilities for Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN):

• Provide patient care in accordance with accepted standards of nursing practice, the written plan of care, and the physician’s plan of treatment.
• Follow and implement individualized care plans developed by the Nurse Manager and interdisciplinary team.
• Perform medication administration and prescribed treatments in accordance with the plan of care (POC) and facility policies.
• Monitor residents’ conditions, report changes promptly to the supervising nurse or physician, and respond appropriately to clinical needs.
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation in accordance with physician orders, care plans, and regulatory standards.
• Support a safe, respectful, and therapeutic environment for residents and their families.
