Job summary

Walter Reed Post Acute in Virginia is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for full-time or part-time roles with evening or night shifts and a competitive shift differential. You will provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care, administer medications, follow individualized care plans, document diligently, and communicate changes to the nursing team under supervision.

Maintain accurate charts and ensure safety.

Qualifications

• Current, active LPN license in Virginia.
• BLS CPR certification.
• Ability to manage multiple patients in a fast-paced healthcare setting.
• Strong clinical judgement and communication skills.
• Attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care in accordance with accepted standards and the physician's plan of treatment.
• Follow and implement individualized care plans developed by the Nurse Manager and interdisciplinary team.
• Perform medication administration and prescribed treatments.
• Monitor residents’ conditions and report changes promptly to the supervising nurse or physician.
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation in accordance with orders and regulatory standards.
• Support a safe, respectful, and therapeutic environment for residents and families.

Responsibilities for Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN):

• Provide patient care in accordance with accepted standards of nursing practice, the written plan of care, and the physician’s plan of treatment.

• Monitor residents’ conditions, report changes promptly to the supervising nurse or physician, and respond appropriately to clinical needs.

• Support a safe, respectful, and therapeutic environment for residents and their families.

Qualifications for Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN):

• Current, unencumbered active LPN license in the state of Virginia.
• Valid BLS Certification (CPR) required.
• Ability to care for and manage multiple patients in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
• Strong clinical judgment, communication skills, and attention to detail.
