Job summary

St. Elizabeth Healthcare in Delphi, IN is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide direct, quality clinical care and supervise nursing assistants on the unit.

You will observe residents daily, respond to changes in condition, and coordinate with charge nurses, physicians, and the Director of Nursing. The role includes medication and supply monitoring, charting, and adherence to safety policies.

Qualifications

• Must have and maintain a current, valid state LPN license.
• Current, valid CPR certification required.

• Identify resident problems and emergencies and initiate lifesaving measures in the absence of a physician.
• Provide holistic care for residents within the LPN scope.
• Monitor medications, supplies, and equipment to ensure adequate stock.
• Complete medical forms, reports, evaluations, and charting as needed.
• Report exposures to blood, body fluids, infectious materials, and hazardous chemicals per policy.

Position Overview

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is primarily responsible for providing direct, quality clinical care and supervising nursing assistants who work with residents assigned to each unit.

Key Responsibilities

• Visit residents on an assigned unit daily to observe and evaluate each resident’s physical and emotional status, and notify the charge nurse, physician, and/or Director of Nursing when a change in condition occurs.
• Identify resident problems and emergency situations and initiate immediate lifesaving measures in the absence of a physician.
• Provide holistic care for residents within the scope of the LPN license.
• Assist in monitoring the inventory of medications, medical supplies, and equipment to ensure an adequate supply is on hand and readily available.
• Perform administrative duties such as completing medical forms, reports, evaluations, studies, and charting as necessary.
• Report occupational exposures to blood, body fluids, infectious materials, and hazardous chemicals in accordance with facility policies and procedures governing accidents and incidents.
