Job summary

Prismhr Hire in Cedar Rapids, IA seeks a compassionate licensed practical nurse to join our care team. You will provide direct nursing care, monitor patient conditions, and assist with clinical procedures.

Collaborating with physicians and other staff, you will educate patients, document care plans, and maintain privacy and infection-control standards in a fast-paced setting. Required: current LPN license, CPR certification, and strong communication skills; prior long-term care or hospital

Qualifications

  • Current licensure as a practical nurse in the applicable state or jurisdiction.
  • Completion of an approved practical nursing program.
  • Current CPR certification or the ability to obtain certification as required.
  • Knowledge of nursing procedures, patient care practices, and documentation standards.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to safe, compassionate care.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care in accordance with established care plans, policies, and procedures.

  • Administer medications and treatments as directed and within scope of practice.
  • Assist with patient admissions, transfers, discharges, and documentation.

  • Maintain accurate and timely charting in electronic or paper medical records.
  • Educate patients and family members on care instructions, health maintenance, and follow-up needs.
  • Follow infection control, safety, and privacy standards at all times.
  • Respond appropriately to urgent patient needs and escalate concerns when necessary.
  • Contribute to a positive, professional, and collaborative care environment.
