Job summary

Northside Hospital in Canton, GA, seeks an experienced Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN/LVN) for a 13-week travel assignment in the Oncology Clinic at Atlanta Cancer Care. The ideal candidate will have recent oncology experience and strong clinical skills to provide high-quality patient care in a fast-paced outpatient setting.

Shifts are 8 hours, Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM–5:00 PM, with a 40-hour guaranteed workweek.

Qualifications

• Active LPN/LVN license in Georgia (or compact).
• Minimum 2 years of recent oncology/related outpatient experience.
• Current AHA BLS certification.
• Ability to work independently and in a team in outpatient oncology.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to oncology patients under supervision of RNs/physicians.
• Perform patient assessments, vital signs, med administration, and treatment support.
• Educate patients on medications, procedures, and treatment plans.
• Document patient care in the EMR.
• Coordinate care with physicians and other healthcare staff.
• Maintain infection control and patient safety standards.
• Ensure a compassionate, patient-centered experience for patients and families.

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN/LVN) for a 13-week travel assignment supporting the Oncology Clinic at Atlanta Cancer Care in Canton, Georgia. The ideal candidate will have recent experience working within the specialty, strong clinical skills, and the ability to provide high‑quality patient care in a fast‑paced outpatient setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to oncology patients under the supervision of registered nurses and physicians.
• Perform patient assessments, vital signs, medication administration, and treatment support.
• Assist with patient education regarding medications, procedures, and treatment plans.
• Document patient care accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR).
• Coordinate care with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
• Maintain compliance with infection control and patient safety standards.
• Ensure a compassionate and supportive experience for patients and their families.

Required Qualifications

• Active LPN/LVN license in the State of Georgia (or compact license if applicable).
• Minimum 2 years of recent experience within the specialty.
• Current AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Strong clinical assessment, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in an outpatient oncology setting.

Additional Qualifications

• Previous travel nursing experience required.

Assignment Details

Contract Length: 13 Weeks

Shift: 8-Hour Days

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM

Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week

On-Call: None

Floating: Optional

Billing Cycle: Biweekly

Additional Requirements

• Travel candidates only (local candidates within a 50-mile radius are not eligible).
• Compliance requirements must be completed by the Wednesday prior to the assignment start date.
• Badge photo required before onboarding.
