Job summary

Amedisys in North Carolina is seeking a licensed practical nurse (PRN) to provide in-home care to patients. You will verify plans of care with the RN before each visit, support physicians and RNs, and educate patients and families on self-care.

The role offers flexible scheduling, competitive pay ranging from $24 to $29 per hour, and comprehensive benefits including medical plans, PTO, and retirement options; ideal for experienced LPNs who value autonomy and compassionate, home-based care.

Qualifications

• One year of clinical LPN experience.
• Current LPN license, specific to the state you are assigned to work.
• Current CPR certification.
• Valid driver's license, reliable transportation and liability insurance.

Responsibilities

• Verify plan of care with the RN prior to each visit.
• Collaborate with physician and RN frequently to ensure patient needs are being met; Notify them as soon as possible when patient condition changes.
• Teach patients and caregivers self-care techniques.
• Check vital signs.
• Review all medications and perform a medication reconciliation at each visit.
• Perform specialized procedures ordered by physician ( i.e. foley catheter change).
• Prepare equipment and materials for treatments using the aseptic technique.
• Complete documentation timely and accurately.
