Job summary

Amedisys is seeking a licensed practical nurse (LPN) for PRN day shifts to support home health patients in Athens, GA. You will assess needs, assist with plans of care, and provide skilled nursing at patients' homes.

You'll collaborate with RNs and physicians, monitor vital signs, reconcile medications, and educate patients and caregivers on self-care. Valid LPN license, CPR, and reliable transportation are required. Competitive pay and comprehensive benefits accompany this role.

Qualifications

• One year of clinical LPN experience.
• Current LPN license for the assigned state.
• Current CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Verify plan of care with the RN prior to each visit.
• Collaborate with physician and RN to ensure patient needs are met; notify changes.
• Teach patients and caregivers self-care techniques.
• Check vital signs.
• Review medications and perform medication reconciliation at each visit.
• Perform specialized procedures ordered by physician (e.g. Foley catheter change).
• Prepare equipment and materials for treatments using aseptic technique.
• Complete documentation timely and accurately.
