Responsibilities

Under the supervision of the RN Unit Manager or DON, a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) performs as a licensed caregiver, assuming responsibility and accountability for assigned residents/patients during a shift. Nursing care involves coordination, implementation, and evaluation of the resident’s/patient’s plan of care. The LPN adheres to standards of care, manages the environment to ensure safety, supervises nursing assistants, and follows all policies and procedures in accordance with the State Nurse Practice Act.

Required Education and Experience

• Licensed in the State as an LPN
• Must have and maintain current CPR certification
• Ability to use necessary supplies and equipment (feeding pumps, oxygen, treatment trays, medication cart, etc.)
• Ability to calculate drug dosages
• Meets all health requirements imposed by law
• Ability to relate positively, effectively, and appropriately with residents, families, community members, volunteers, and staff
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
• Basic computer knowledge and aptitude to learn company applications
