Job summary

The Carolina Center for Behavioral Health, part of Universal Health Services, is hiring Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN) to join our dedicated team in the Greenville/Upstate SC region. New grads are encouraged to apply and benefit from an excellent mentorship program and orientation.

Responsibilities include participating in treatment planning, monitoring patient progress, administering medications, and maintaining a safe therapeutic environment.

Qualifications

• LPN program completion from an accredited School of Nursing.
• SC LPN license with current registration required.
• Multi-state license with South Carolina included in the compact is also acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Participates in treatment planning: identify patients’ problems/needs/strengths; suggest modifications to treatment plan.
• Monitors patients’ progress; communicates patient behavior to treatment team; maintains communication with patient, family, and referral sources.
• Updates treatment care plans.
• Assists dietary staff in identifying patients on special diets and ensuring dietary orders are followed.
• Administers medications prescribed by physician.
• Helps maintain the therapeutic milieu on the unit and facilitates community meetings.

Education

Specializing in psychiatric programs and substance abuse treatments such as detox and rehab, The Carolina Center serves Greenville, Spartanburg, Anderson, and areas throughout South Carolina and western North Carolina. Job Responsibilities-

• Participates in treatment planning: (a) helps identify patients’ problems, needs and strengths; (b) suggesting modifications to treatment plan based on observations of patients’ behavior; (c) providing input into discharge planning
• Participates in implementing patients’ treatment plans by; (a) monitoring patients’ progress; (b) communicating information regarding patients’ behavior to other members of treatment team; (c) maintaining communication with patient, family members and referral sources in patient’s interest; (d) facilitating or co-facilitating didactic groups, community meetings, or drug or alcohol education groups; (e) encouraging and facilitating patients’ participation in therapeutic activities; (f) supervising patients to ensure their safety and their involvement in treatment; (g) providing input during shift report.
• Updates treatment care plans.
• Assists dietary staff in identifying patients on special diets and assuring patients’ compliance with dietary orders.
• Administers patient medications prescribed by physician.
• Helps maintain the therapeutic milieu on the unit, including, but not limited to, facilitation of community meetings.
• Maintains patient, program, department and related documentation.
• Maintains a safe, orderly, and therapeutic physical environment for patients.
• Effectively manages psychiatric crisis emergency situations.

Qualifications

Qualifications:
