Responsibilities

The Carolina Center for Behavioral Health is currently hiring Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN) to join our team of dedicated professionals.

We specialize in psychiatric programs and substance abuse treatments such as detox and rehab. The center serves Greenville, Spartanburg, Anderson and areas throughout South Carolina and western North Carolina.

We are looking for highly empathetic individuals with a high level of emotional and social intelligence.

• Participates in treatment planning: identifies patients’ problems, needs and strengths; suggests modifications to treatment plan based on observations; provides input into discharge planning.
• Participates in implementing patients’ treatment plans by monitoring progress; communicating information regarding patients’ behavior to other members of the treatment team; maintaining communication with patient, family members and referral sources; facilitating didactic groups, community meetings, or drug or alcohol education groups; encouraging participation in therapeutic activities; supervising patients to ensure their safety; providing input during shift report.
• Updates treatment care plans.
• Assists dietary staff in identifying patients on special diets and ensuring compliance with dietary orders.
• Administers patient medications prescribed by physician.
• Maintains therapeutic milieu on the unit, including facilitation of community meetings.
• Maintains patient, program, department and related documentation.
• Maintains a safe, orderly, and therapeutic physical environment for patients.
• Effectively manages psychiatric crisis emergency situations.

Qualifications

LPN program completion from an accredited school of nursing required. CPR training will be provided. South Carolina LPN license with current registration required. Multi-state license with South Carolina included in the compact also acceptable.
