Job summary

SOUTHERN HEALTH PARTNERS INC is seeking a dependable Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our healthcare team at Surry County Jail in North Carolina. This full-time Day Shift position offers a structured correctional setting where clinical judgment and compassionate care make a difference every day.

You will administer medications, perform nursing assessments, and collaborate with the health team to ensure patient safety and quality care from 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM on a rotating schedule.

Qualifications

• Current, unrestricted LPN license in North Carolina.
• Current CPR certification.
• Strong clinical assessment, communication, and documentation skills.
• Ability to work independently and make sound clinical decisions.

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, quality nursing care to patients in a correctional healthcare setting.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Conduct nursing assessments and monitor patient conditions for changes requiring intervention.
• Assist with sick calls, chronic care management, and other patient healthcare needs.
• Respond to medical concerns and emergencies according to established protocols.
• Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential medical documentation.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to promote patient safety and continuity of care.
• Follow established clinical protocols, facility procedures, and applicable nursing standards.

• Ability to work independently and make sound clinical decisions.
• Commitment to patient confidentiality, professional ethics, and quality care.
• Ability to work in a safe, secure correctional environment.
• Availability to work the assigned rotating day-shift schedule from 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM.
