Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide quality patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse or physician. The role includes assisting with procedures, preparing equipment, collecting data, and supporting diagnostic testing and patient exams.

Responsibilities cover administering injections, collecting specimens, scheduling procedures, and ensuring accurate documentation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Current state LPN licensure or multi-state licensure via eNLC.
• Preferred: 1 year healthcare experience, state approved IV course certification, knowledge of OASIS documentation and assessment, PALS or ACLS may be required.

Responsibilities

• Performs general nursing care in accordance with nursing practice standards.
• Assists with the preparation of equipment and assists the physician/clinical provider during treatment, examination and testing of patients.
• Collects assessment data, prepares patient for examination and documents clinical information on patient record.
• Orders diagnostic tests as directed by registered nurse or physician/clinical provider and gathers diagnostic tests and/or examines results prior to physician/clinical provider assessment.
• Schedules procedures and obtains authorizations as necessary.
• May give injections or medication, collect blood, tissue, or other laboratory specimens, and prepare them for testing.
• Performs other duties as assigned or required.
