Job summary

Allegheny Health Network seeks a licensed practical nurse to provide quality care under direction of a registered nurse or physician. General nursing duties and patient support are included.

The role involves preparing equipment, assisting during testing, collecting data, ordering tests, scheduling procedures, and possibly giving injections or samples. A valid LPN license or eNLC is required, with preferred experience and certifications.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent.
• Current state licensure as an LPN OR current multi-state licensure through eNLC.
• 1 year healthcare experience (preferred).
• State approved IV course certification (preferred).
• Knowledge of OASIS documentation and assessment process (preferred).
• PALS or ACLS may be required based on the area of practice.

Responsibilities

• Performs general nursing care in accordance with nursing practice standards.
• Assists with preparation of equipment and with physician/clinical provider during treatment, examination and testing.
• Collects assessment data, prepares patient for examination and documents clinical information.
• Orders diagnostic tests and gathers results prior to physician assessment.
• Schedules procedures and obtains authorizations as necessary.
• May give injections or medications and collect samples for testing.
• Performs other duties as assigned or required.
