Job summary

Allegheny Health Network in Pennsylvania is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide quality patient care under the direction of a registered nurse or physician. You will perform general nursing duties and assist with examinations, testing, and treatment.

This role requires clinical data collection, documenting patient information, preparing equipment, and coordinating procedures and authorizations.

Qualifications

• Minimum High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current state licensure as an LPN OR Current multi-state licensure through the enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC).
• 3 years’ LPN or LVN experience.
• State approved IV course certification preferred.
• Knowledge of OASIS documentation and assessment process.
• CPR – American Heart Association
• Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
• Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate
• Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate

Responsibilities

• Performs general nursing care in accordance with nursing practice standards.
• Assists with preparation of equipment and assists the physician/clinical provider during treatment, examination and testing.
• Collects assessment data, prepares patient for examination and documents clinical information on patient record.
• Orders diagnostic tests as directed by registered nurse or physician/clinical provider and gathers diagnostic tests and/or examines results prior to physician/clinical provider assessment.
• May provide oversight and technical expertise.
• May give injections or medication, collect blood, tissue, or other laboratory specimens, and prepare them for testing.
• May clean equipment, properly dispose of contaminated supplies, assure that work areas are organized and cleaned according to regulatory standards.
• May order cost-effective supplies, stock and prepare rooms for patient examinations.
• Schedules procedures and obtains authorizations as necessary.
