Job summary

Alexandria Clinic Nursing is seeking an LPN/CMA to support providers in an outpatient setting. The role includes planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care under RN or Provider direction, with emphasis on patient advocacy and accurate documentation.

Essential duties cover injections, immunizations, and medications, as well as care coordination and quality initiatives. A flexible schedule supports clinic operations at multiple hours and shifts.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Practical Nursing or Medical Assisting program.
• Current MN Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA).
• Basic Life Support (BLS).

Responsibilities

• Meet, maintain, and follow Meaningful Use, PQRS, MN community Measures requirements and other quality initiatives.
• Prepare and administer injections, immunizations, and medications.
• Administer treatments as prescribed by Provider.
• Submit appropriate charges for services rendered.
• Document all patient interactions in the electronic medical record.
• Assist in emergent situations using crash cart and defibrillator resources.
• Respond to patient and visitor requests, complaints, and recommendations.

Department: Alexandria Clinic NursingEmployment Status: Casual- Required to work a minimum of 8 hours/monthHours:Clinic Nursing Hours- Any Available HoursWeekdays: 0705-2000 Weekends: 0830-1530Typical shifts range from blocks of 4, 8, and 12 hoursPosition ObjectiveThe LPN/CMA supports the Provider in provision of individualized patient care, direct and indirect in an outpatient clinical setting. LPN/CMAs participate in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care, based on objectives, standards, and policies of nursing. They have the ability to handle a diverse range of situations and responsibilities, which is their primary duty. LPN/CMAs are responsible for rendering nursing care in an assigned area in terms of individualized patient needs, according to conformance with recognized nursing techniques, procedures, and established standards based on the scope of practice, under the direction/delegation of a Registered Nurse or Provider.Essential ResponsibilitiesThe following description of responsibilities to be performed is not intended to be all-inclusive.
