MUSC Children's After Hours and Specialty Clinics is a pediatric outpatient clinic operating under Shawn Jenkins Children's Hospital at MUSC, now opening in the new MUSC Medical Office Building at 700 Buckwalter Towne Blvd in Bluffton. This location brings pediatric After Hours services to the Bluffton community for the first time. During daytime hours, the facility hosts a wide range of pediatric subspecialists, including pediatric gastroenterology, cardiology, and orthopedics, among others. We also provide walk-in After Hours Care, which serves as an extension of the pediatric emergency department to support families during the times when most pediatric practices are closed.
A specialty clinics schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
After Hours Clinic schedule:
Schedule: This full-time position consists of two 12-hour shifts (8:30 a.m. - 9:00 p.m.), two 8-hour shifts: 12:30 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. and every other weekend from 10:30 a.m. - 7:00 p.m. with rotating holidays
LPN I Minimum Training and Education: Graduate from an accredited Practical Nurse program. Licensed as an LPN within the state of South Carolina or a compact state.
LPN Required Licensure, Certifications, Registrations: Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or American Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers certification is required.
Physical Requirements: Continuous requirements are to perform job functions while standing, walking and sitting. Ability to bend at the waist, kneel, climb stairs, reach in all directions, fully use both hands and legs, possess good finger dexterity, perform repetitive motions with hands/wrists/elbows and shoulders, reach in all directions. Ability to be qualified physically for respirator use, initially and as required. Maintain 20/40 vision corrected, see and recognize objects close at hand and at a distance, work in a latex safe environment and work indoors. Frequently lift, lower, push and pull and/or carry objects weighing 50 lbs (+/-) unassisted, exert up to 50 lbs of force, lift from 36" to overhead 25 lbs. Infrequently work in dusty areas and confined/cramped spaces.
