Northside Hospital Inc. in Atlanta, GA is seekingLicensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) to provide direct patient care on the night shift. You will work under RN supervision in an assigned clinical area, contributing to planning, implementing and evaluating nursing care.

Requirements include graduation from an accredited practical nursing program, current Georgia LPN licensure and BLS certification. One year of LPN experience and ACLS/PALS or similar may be preferred in certain units.

Qualifications

• Current licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse in Georgia.
• Must hold American Heart Association Basic Life Support.
• One year of experience as an LPN is preferred for some units.
• ACLS, PALS or other clinical specialty certifications may be preferred in specific units.

• Provide direct patient care to an assigned group of patients as directed by the RN.
• Participate in planning, implementation and evaluation of nursing care.
• Adhere to Northside Hospital policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) render direct patient care to an assigned group of patients, in accordance with the philosophy, policies and procedures of Northside Hospital. LPNs participate in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care. LPNs work under the direction of the Registered Nurse in an assigned clinical area.

According to the National Association of Practical & Licensed Vocational Nurses (NALPN), “Practical Nurses/Licensed Vocational Nurses are a specialized field who represent the entry into the nursing practice profession”. LPNs practice in diverse clinical settings that include different healthcare professionals who work collaboratively as a team. This collaborative team works to “improve a patient’s function and to protect the health and safety of the patients”. LPNs are part of the Licensed Practical Nurse – Nursing Excellence Track Program (L-NEXT) at Northside Hospital and have the opportunity for career advancement opportunities through expansion of knowledge, expertise through both academic/continuing education, and specialty certification.

Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES/LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION REQUIRED

• Graduate of an accredited school of practical nursing.
• Current licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the State of Georgia.
• Must hold American Heart Association Basic Life Support.

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES/LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION PREFERRED

• One (1) year of experience as an LPN.
• Additional Life Support credential (ACLS, PALS, NRP, etc.) or other clinical specialty certifications may be preferred in specific units.
• Visual color acuity depending on the role in specific units.

Work Hours: 7PM-7:30AM

Weekend Requirements: Yes- Rotating Basis
