Journey in Saint Albans, WV is seeking an experienced RN to lead a care team in a licensed long-term care facility. You will oversee daily nursing activities and ensure residents receive holistic, high-quality care.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Directs the daily activities of the licensed practical/vocational nurse and CNAs per regulations and facility policies.
• Promotes holistic care for residents by following the nursing model.
• Ensures policies and procedures are followed by nursing staff.
• Participates in admissions, discharges and transfers of residents as required.
• Monitors residents’ status and notifies physician and family as needed.
• Transcribes physician orders to medical records and carries out orders as written.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

• Directs the daily activities of the licensed practical/vocational nurse and certified nursing assistants in accordance with current federal, state and local regulations and guidelines and established facility policies and procedures.
• Follows the nursing model to promote holistic care for the residents.
• Ensures that policies and procedures are complied with by nursing personnel assigned.
• Participates in the admission, discharge and transfers of residents as required.
• Assesses for changes in residents’ status, notifying the physician and resident’s family or representative and documenting accordingly.
• Transcribes physician orders to medical record and carries out orders as written.

Required Qualifications

• Prior experience in long-term care preferred but not required.
• A Nursing degree from an accredited college or university.
• Current unrestricted license as a Registered Nurse (RN) in practicing state.
• Current CPR certification.
