Job summary

Hale Makua Health Services in Maui is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse to provide patient care at a 90-bed facility. You will administer medications, monitor status, and communicate changes to the care team in a supportive, patient‑centered environment.

The ideal candidate has Hawaii LPN licensure, knowledge of medical terminology, and experience in geriatrics. TB clearance and CPR/First Aid are preferred; in-house capabilities may apply.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current Hawaii LPN license.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Geriatrics experience preferred.
• TB clearance and health review (2-step).
• First Aid and CPR preferred.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates knowledge of patient's diagnoses, limitations, expectations, plan of health, and current status.
• Administers medications and treatments as ordered by the physician and according to policy and procedures.
• Appraises the family, physician and others of changes/incidents.
• Collaborates with physicians, therapy services, consultants and agencies to improve quality of services and to resolve identified problems.

The Position

• Knowledge of medical terminology and abbreviation.
• Experience in geriatrics and current nursing standards of practice preferred.
• Current and valid 2 Step TB clearance and health review (can be done in-house).
• First Aid and CPR preferred (can be done in-house).
