Job summary

Ohana Pacific Health is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse to join Hale Makua Health Services in Kahului, Maui. You will provide professional nursing care to residents in accordance with established policies, delivering medications and treatments as directed.

This role involves collaborating with physicians and staff to maintain high-quality geriatric care, with benefits including PTO, tuition reimbursement, and health coverage.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Current Hawaii LPN license.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and abbreviations.
• Experience in geriatrics and current nursing standards preferred.
• TB clearance health review required (can be done in-house).
• First Aid/CPR preferred (in-house possible).

Responsibilities

• Provides professional nursing care to residents following facility policies and procedures.
• Administers medications and treatments as ordered by the physician.
• Assesses patients and communicates changes to the care team.
• Collaborates with physicians, therapy services, consultants and agencies to improve care quality.

Hale Makua Health Services is a Maui based non-profit that improves the well‑being of those in its care through compassionate personalized health services. We are devoted to helping Maui's Elders live their best lives. Hale Makua's Kahului location is a 254‑bed nursing facility.

The Position

We're looking for passionate Licensed Practical Nurses to help us with providing professional nursing care to residents following established policies and procedures of the facility.

• Demonstrates knowledge of the patient's diagnoses, limitations, expectations, plan of health, and current status.
• Administers medications and treatments as ordered by the physician and according to policy and procedures.
• Appraises the family, physician and others of changes/incidents.
• Collaborates with physicians, therapy services, consultants and agencies to improve quality of services and to resolve identified problems.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current license as a License Practical Nurse in the State of Hawaii.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and abbreviation.
• Experience in geriatrics and current nursing standards of practice preferred.
• Current and valid 2 Step TB clearance and health review (can be done in-house).
• First Aid and CPR preferred (can be done in-house).
