Job summary

Ohana Pacific Health in Hawaii is seeking a Registered Nurse to join our full-time team in Hilo. The role involves delivering professional nursing care to residents, administering medications, and following facility policies to ensure safety and quality care.

We offer a retention bonus and competitive compensation. Candidates must be a graduate of an accredited nursing program with Hawaii RN licensure; geriatrics experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• First Aid and CPR preferred.

Responsibilities

• Administers medications/treatments as ordered by the physician and according to policy and procedures.
• Takes telephone orders from physicians and transcribes orders to MAR and patient records.
• Maintains and orders inventory of resident medications and medical stock supplies.
• Conducts accurate physical assessments of residents and implements appropriate interventions.
• Performs assessments on admission, transfer and discharge.

The Position:

We're looking for passionate Registered Nurses to help us with providing professional nursing care to residents following established policies and procedures of the facility.

• Administers medications/treatments as ordered by the physician and according to policy and procedures.
• Takes telephone orders from physicians and transcribes orders to new medication administration record, the pre-printed physician order sheet, resident chart, treatment/care plans as appropriate.
• Maintains & orders appropriate inventory of resident medications and medical stock supplies.
• Conducts accurate physical assessments of residents, determines their needs and implements appropriate interventions to meet those needs.
• Performs assessments on admission, transfer and/or discharges.

Requirements:

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current license as a Registered Nurse in the State of Hawaii required.
• Experience in geriatrics and current nursing standards of practice preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and abbreviation required.
• First Aid and CPR preferred (can be done in-house).
