Job summary

Recovery Centers of America is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide compassionate care in our addiction and mental health treatment centers. This PRN role supports assessment, medication administration, and care coordination in a patient-centered environment.

The LPN will collaborate with nurses and physicians, educate patients and families, and ensure accurate documentation while upholding safety and dignity for all individuals we serve.

Qualifications

• Active LPN license in the state of employment.
• Current BLS certification or willing to obtain during orientation.
• At least 1 year in behavioral health, addiction treatment, or detox preferred.
• Ability to perform CLIA waived testing and document results accurately.
• Strong critical thinking and assessment skills for safe patient care.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient health by evaluating physiological and behavioral status and vital signs.
• Administer medications safely according to treatment plans.
• Collaborate with RNs, physicians, and staff to plan care and discharge.
• Educate patients and families on addiction recovery and self-care.
• Document patient progress and maintain confidential medical records.

What You’ll Do

As an LPN at RCA, you will:

• Assess patient health by evaluating their physiological and behavioral health, monitoring vital signs, behavioral changes, and response to treatment.
• Administer medications safely and in accordance with prescribed treatment plans.
• Collaborate with RNs, physicians, and clinical staff to ensure appropriate treatment/discharge plan.
• Educate patients and families about addiction recovery and self-care practices.
• Document patient progress and maintain medical records with accuracy and confidentiality.
• Maintain a safe, structured environment that supports recovery and well-being and respects the dignity and diversity of all individuals.
• Complete documentation and follow procedures outlined in organizational policies and procedures.

What We’re Looking For

• An active LPN license in [state]
• A current BLS certification (or willingness to obtain during orientation).
• One year of experience in behavioral health, addiction treatment, or detox services is preferred; phlebotomy skills preferred.
• Strong critical thinking and assessment skills to provide high-quality patient care.
• Knowledge of health care, detoxification process, addiction, co-occurring disorders, and DSM Criteria preferred.
• Competency in performing CLIA waived testing.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills with a commitment to compassionate patient care.
