Job summary

Minnesota Direct Care and Treatment is seeking qualified, enthusiastic individuals to join our Forensic Services team in St. Peter. This part-time, rotating shift role offers mental health evaluation and treatment in a secure setting.

Minimum qualifications include a Practical Nurse license in Minnesota and graduation from an approved nursing program. A hiring bonus may be available for eligible applicants.

Qualifications

  • Graduation from an approved school of nursing
  • Current licensure in Minnesota as a Practical Nurse
  • Future Practical Nurses within six months of graduating and taking NCLEX-LPN are encouraged to apply
  • Contingent job offers may be made upon successful degree completion and passing NCLEX-LPN

Responsibilities

  • Administer medications, treatments, and other therapies per orders and treatment plan.
  • Assist the client in developing independence in daily living as needed.
  • Complete assigned unit tasks.
  • Monitor, report and document interactions with client.
  • Collect and report data about client health needs and respond to needs; assist RN with nursing plans.
  • Respond to emergencies to maintain a safe, therapeutic environment.
  • Maintain professional boundaries and respect diversity.

Education

Graduation from an approved school of nursing
Current Minnesota Practical Nurse licensure
Future Practical Nurses within 6 months of graduation encouraged (NCLEX-LPN)

Direct Care and Treatment (DCT) is seeking qualified and enthusiastic individuals to join our Forensic Services team.

Forensics Services provides mental health evaluation and treatment services to individuals diagnosed with a mental illness who present a risk to public safety. This is a safe and secure treatment environment.

Duties
  • Administering medications, treatments, and other therapies following the practitioner’s orders and treatment plan for the client.
  • Assisting the client in developing optimal independence in living or assisting with Activities of Daily Living as needed.
  • Completing assigned unit tasks.
  • Monitoring, reporting and appropriately documenting interactions with client.
  • Collecting and reporting data about physical and mental health needs of the client. Responding appropriately to client’s physical and mental health needs. Documenting interactions, plans and client responses to interventions offered. Assisting the RN in planning and implementation of the nursing plan of care and/or multi-disciplinary plans of care.
  • Responding immediately and appropriately to emergency situations to maintain a safe and therapeutic environment.
  • Maintaining professional boundaries in a manner that creates a positive and caring environment and an accepting attitude towards diversity in people.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Graduation from an approved school of nursing
  • Current licensure in Minnesota as a Practical Nurse
  • Future Practical Nurses who are within six (6) months of graduating and taking their NCLEX-LPN are encouraged to apply. Contingent job offers may be made upon successful completion of degree and passing of NCLEX-LPN.
Preferred Qualifications
