Job summary

Management & Training Corporation seeks a Licensed Practical Nurse at Bay Correctional Facility in Panama City, FL. The role involves providing nursing care to inmates, administering medications, and supporting the medical team under RN supervision.

Requirements include graduation from an LPN program, active Florida LPN license, and at least one year of related experience including EKG, phlebotomy, injections, IV, casting and wound care. Driving will be required for some assignments.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a licensed practical nurse program.
• Active Florida LPN license.
• One year of experience preferred, including EKG, phlebotomy, injections, IV, casting and wound care.
• Valid Florida driver’s license with acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Operate pill call, provide med pass, distribute medication and document as required by policies and procedures in designated location(s).
• Under direction of the RN on duty and in accordance with standing orders, obtain initial health information and assist with treatment of inmates reporting to sick call.
• Refer inmates to providers when appropriate.
• Assist with provider line.
• Perform emergency procedures as needed and call physician for treatment orders when necessary.
• Keep equipment and work area clean; prepare exam room and equipment.
• Control medication, syringes and other medical supplies as required.
• Closely monitor all potential catastrophic illnesses.
• Maintain absolute security and confidentiality of all medical records; observe HIPAA rules.

Education And Experience Requirements

• A valid driver’s license in the state of Florida with an acceptable driving record is required, unless waived by management
