Job summary

Management & Training Corporation (MTC) in Panama City, FL is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse for a part-time position at Bay Correctional Facility. The nurse will provide nursing care, med pass, and support for inmates under RN guidance and standing orders.

Qualifications include graduation from an LPN program, active FL license, and 1 year of experience with EKG, phlebotomy, injections, IV, casting and wound care. A FL driver's license is required unless waived.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a licensed practical nurse program.
• An active licensure as a practical nurse in the state of Florida.
• One (1) year of experience preferred, to include EKG, phlebotomy, injections, IV, casting and wound care.
• A valid driver’s license in the state of Florida with an acceptable driving record is required, unless waived by management.

Responsibilities

• Operate pill call, provide med pass, distribute medication and document as required by applicable policies and procedures in designated location(s)
• Under direction of the RN on duty and in accordance with approved standing orders, obtain initial health information and assist with treatment of inmates reporting to sick call
• Refer inmates to providers when appropriate
• Assist with provider line
• Perform emergency procedures as needed and call physician for treatment orders when necessary
• Keep equipment and work area clean; Prepare exam room and equipment
• Control medication, syringes and other medical supplies as required
• Closely monitor all potential catastrophic illnesses
• Maintain absolute security and confidentiality of all medical records; observe applicable HIPAA rules
